“Been using Kettle Bells, for the past few months. It does take some time to get used to the movements but once you get it, you would be able to juggle it!
It’s truly awesome, if given a chance to do gym work on a smith or nautilus machine and a short 10 to 20 min cycle on a kettlebell, I would choose the KBs over the gym machines! Sad thing is, most gyms in SG don’t have KBs. But you don’t need a gym to do KBs, it can be done anywhere… park, field, at work, at school or even in the comfort of your own home. All you need is one time investment and then you are set for GENERATIONS. Even though you abuse your KBs, I do!
The free and full range of movement does wonders to joint and body mobility! Personally I hate running and doing cardio on machines, but a good cardiovascular workout can be achieved with a 10 minute cycle of clean & press and followed by 10 minutes cycle of snatch. To finish off the workout would be Turkish Get Ups to warm down! And you have a full body workout in 30 minutes and you don’t have to get out of your house! Be prepared to really perspire! You don’t have to train your abs or do crunches, because the TGU works your abs really hard!
I always have a 20kg KB in my car and a change of clothes, just in case if I get bored or have some free time to burn. It does help to pass the time and at the same time get stronger! You have to appreciate the whole ballistic movements, incorporating fully body movements and at the same working your core muscles. I’ve got stronger and also quicker when it comes to ballistics and explosive movements. My favourite movements are the snatch & clean and press! Always remember full body is always better then spot training.
They do make perfect presents too! I would like a pair of each weight all the way up to 56Kg!”

“35 years old and haven’t been rockclimbing for awhile, I thought a gym subscription will help me get back in shape. Trained for 3 months and it barely got me back into shape. Stamina and coordination didn’t transfer well from doing static weight training and general cardio workout to real climbing. Heard about kettlebells and benefits it has for movement oriented sports as well as overall stamina. I would definitely recommend Kettlebell training for rockclimbers who doesn’t always get the time to get on the rocks or climbing walls to train.
